Contract Type: Temporary (Potential to go Temp to Perm for the right candidate) or Permanent, depending on preference
Salary: Paid to Scale (M1 - UPS3)
Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM + Additional (Full Teacher Responsibilities)
Ofsted Rating: Good (2023)

Position Overview:
An Ofsted Good school in Northampton is seeking a passionate and creative Music Teacher to join their team. The role is initially available on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. Alternatively, the school is open to a straight permanent appointment if preferred. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Music lessons and fostering a love of music across Key Stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic Music lessons that inspire creativity and musical appreciation.
  • Teach across various Key Stages, including practical and theoretical elements of Music.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to encourage growth.
  • Contribute to the development of the Music curriculum and extracurricular music activities.
  • Support students in performances, concerts, and other musical events throughout the year.
  • Take on full teacher responsibilities, including planning, marking, and participating in department meetings.

Requirements:

  • Ideally, the candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Must have an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Music with the ability to teach both practical and theoretical components.
  • A passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of music.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to high educational standards.
