Our client is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join their busy team on a part time basis - 20 hours per week

Duties include;

  • Ensure all payroll data, including new starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses and other adjustments are accurately communicated to the payroll bureau.
  • Collect and verify payroll data from the time and attendance system ensuring appropriate authorisations are in place to submit to external bureau in accordance with the payroll schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation and company policies and procedures.
  • Review payroll reports from the bureau and communicate any changes or corrections needed in a timely manner.
  • Manage pension scheme to ensure up to date data is maintained on the pension site.
  • Act as main point of contact for employees regarding pension deductions and contributions.
  • Prepare, review and distribute payroll reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with internal reporting deadlines.
  • Resolve payroll queries in collaboration with the external bureau and Payroll Assistants, liaising directly with employees and third parties where necessary.
  • Oversee the maintenance and updating of payroll systems.
  • Maintaining the finance system in relation to the payroll ledger with accurate payroll postings and ensuring balance sheets are reconciled in line with the payroll processing deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Operational and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise and maintain a strong relationship with external bureau to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll.

You will have;

  • Previous experience in a busy high volume payroll environment
  • Strong payroll legislation knowledge and can complete manual calculations
  • Strong technical knowledge to assist dealing with some of the more complex payroll queries effectively
  • Experience working on a finance system completing posting, reporting and reconcile balance sheets
  • Good numerical skills and a logical approach to problem solving
  • Stakeholder management
  • Good customer service skills, including verbal and written experience
  • Strong excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables
