Your new roleA multi-skilled maintenance plumber is required to start work ASAP on a temporary contract. You would need to be confident in carrying out reactive and planned building maintenance throughout the site, including Halls of Residence.Duration: Until January 31st, 2025Hours: Full-time: 37 hours per weekYour day-to-day duties

  • Demonstrate practical competence for semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks delegated by the Facilities Helpdesk.
  • Efficiently fix plumbing related breakages and leaks when relevant across the campus.
  • Liaising with the appropriate teams to ensure minimal disruption is caused to building users.
  • Other general site checks to identify and record defects, with the Building Services Supervisor, ensuring information is accurately recorded.
  • To complete relevant weekly/monthly Statutory Compliance checks including but not limited to Fire Alarm Testing, Emergency Light Testing, Fire door inspections and Water Temperature Testing.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Ideally, you are a plumber by trade or are able to repair/ maintain leaks and other bathroom related issues in accordance with approved codes of practice and legislative compliance.
  • Qualification in maintenance work to NVQ level 2 (Equivalent) OR relevant time served experience, with references.
  • Smartphone/tablet literate is desirable
  • You must hold a full UK driving licence E A/I
  • Willingness to carry out a variety of tasks, not all plumbing related.
  • Demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills to an appropriate standard.
