CMM Quality Technician

Shifts: Monday to Thursday 8am till 5pm Friday 8am till 2pm.

Salary: Up To £18.00 p/h

The Company:

A global manufacturer specialising in precision engineered parts for multiple industries including aerospace.

Quality CMM Technician Responsibilities:

Operate CMM machine using established programs, as well as creating new programs using PCDMIS software.

  • Perform dimensional inspection on product using CMM, Verniers, micrometres and height gauges.
  • Generate offline, online and record CMM programs.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection on product per procedures.
  • Perform first off inspection and in-process inspections.
  • Perform Equipment TPM (Total Preventative maintenance).

Develop and modify CMM measurement programs using appropriate software. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to create accurate measurement routines.

Essential Skills of a Quality CMM Technician:

  • Ability to effectively read and understand drawings, engineering documents, purchase orders, inspection manuals and procedures.
  • Strong background programming and operating coordinate measuring machines using PC-DMIS software.
  • Strong metrology, drawing reading, and GD&T interpretation skills.
  • Must be familiar with AS9102 Form and First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometres and verniers.

Desirable Skills of a Quality CMM Technician:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience programming/ operating CMMs and performing inspection in Aerospace and/or Military/Defence Manufacturing environment.
