Quest Search & Selection are currently partnering with a global supplier and retailer with a global client base and operations in 50 countries. This business lends itself to toys, giftings, souvenir & general merchandise and as a supplier they offer the complete end-to-end solution for all customised general merchandise requirements.
As a Product Technologist you will play a key part in working directly with factories in Asia, Europe and the USA, ensuring testing, inspections, QC reports, risk assessments and manufacturing processes are completed to the standard required
The Roles & responsibilities of this Quality Technologist - Toys & Gifting role -
- Accountable for setting, maintaining and monitoring the legality, safety and quality standards of all products and third-party brands.
- Drive and maintain QA systems and processes looking for continuous improvement where needed.
- Ensure all new product developments (NPD) are approved for suitability, safety, legality and quality in line with QA processes.
- Develop, manage and maintain the factory/supplier relationships and ensure transparency of the supply chain regarding Quality, Sustainability and Ethical behaviours and standards.
- Work with the product development team through the full project lifecycle.
- Visit factory partners throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products are meeting the correct standard.
- Create risk assessments for each product.
- Escalate findings where manufacturing isn't to standard.
To be successful in this Quality Technologist - Toys & Gifting -
- Have 2 years + experience within a Technologist, Quality or Compliance Testing role.
- You have gained experience within General Merchandiser (ideally in gifting, toys orsouvenirs)
- Ability to conduct risk assessments on products
- You must be able to drive
- Experienced in setting, maintaining and monitoring quality standards on all products and 3rd party brands
- Experience with working directly with the factories (particularly the Far-East)
- Has robust testing and manufacturing experience
- A strong understanding of UK legislation and Quality Management Systems
