A national M&E Contractor are looking for a M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team in Northampton. The company provides M&E services to a wide range of clients and businesses across a multitude of sectors including MOD, HMP, Commercial, Education and Healthcare. These projects are typically valued up to 10M.

As the M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for financial aspects of the projects, for allocated packages working closely with the Senior Commercial Manager and Project Managers.

The successful candidate will be manage all M&E financial and contractual aspects from initial calculations to the final account.

As the M&E Quantity Surveyor you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Preparing project costs and contracts.
  • Preparing tender documents, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with quantity surveyors and project managers, assisting with risk management and cost control throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Compiling monthly applications
  • Costing and agreeing project variation accounts
  • Review client payment notices.
  • Negotiating and producing subcontract orders for supply chain.
  • Support communication between clients, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure a smooth flow of information.
  • Oversee credit Control on Projects

Successful applicants will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Recognised qualification in a M&E building services related subject
  • Overall knowledge of a wide variety of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Structured approach with the ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
