- Conduct inspections regularly, liaising with on-site teams to ensure project progress aligns with plans.
- Take ownership of all financial aspects of assigned projects, from initial budgeting to final reconciliations.
- Collaborate with estimators to review tender documents and provide strategic recommendations for cost efficiencies.
- Prepare and review variation costings, ensuring only authorised changes are executed.
- Negotiate and finalise rates, prices, and any required compensation events with stakeholders.
- Forecast project profitability, ensuring accurate and timely updates throughout the lifecycle of each project.
- Ensure all documentation, including technical drawings, is complete and compliant with project specifications.
- Build long-term relationships with clients through networking, effective communication, and excellent service delivery.
- Manage sub-contractor allocations and oversee procurement processes to maintain cost control and efficiency.
- Proactively address potential risks related to finances and debts, resolving issues effectively with third parties.
- Promote a culture of safety on all sites, addressing concerns promptly and ensuring compliance with company and legal standards.
Skills and experience required:
- A Level 4 HNC qualification in Construction, Building, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
