The Role:

You will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of the project, ensuring tight cost control, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full commercial management of a high-value construction project.
  • Overseeing cost planning, forecasting, and budget management.
  • Procuring and managing subcontractors.
  • Preparing, negotiating, and finalizing contracts.
  • Providing clear reports and updates to senior management.
  • Ensuring project compliance with legal and contractual obligations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
  • Strong track record in managing large-scale construction projects (£20m+).
  • Familiarity with working for tier 1 or tier 2 contractors such as Glencar, TSL, Caddick, or McLaren.
  • Excellent cost management, negotiation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Flexible to travel to Manchester 1-2 times per week while being based in Hertfordshire or nearby.
