They operate across more than 200 sites in the UK and Ireland and, with a strong profile of customers, they are constantly growing, winning new business, and setting up new teams.Your new roleThey are currently recruiting for a Finance Administrator at a Northampton site. Reporting to the Assistant Finance Manager, this role is crucial for producing accurate management accounts by analysing labour costs and key productivity.Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse labour hours and assist Operational Heads with key variances.
- Assist with the preparation and closure of monthly and weekly invoices.
- Raise online Purchase Orders and ad-hoc payment requests.
- Perform weekly statement reconciliations.
- Handle month-end responsibilities, including basic accounting principles.
- Run daily reports to identify trends.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, working with operations to understand variances.
- Develop strong relationships with various stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Finance Manager to support growth opportunities.
- Report and monitor key performance indicators.
- Produce ad-hoc reports, costings, and expenditure trend analysis.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
What you'll need to succeedThe ideal person will be detail-oriented, eager to engage in all finance department tasks, confident in communication, and able to challenge the status quo. Experience in accounts payable maintenance is essential and a background working in the Transport, Logistics, or Warehousing industry would be ideal. The ideal person will demonstrate drive, energy, and a commitment to continuous improvement. They should be proactive, inquisitive, and passionate about challenging teams to enhance performance. The ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards is crucial. Flexibility and a positive response to customer requests are essential. Strong relationship-building skills at all levels and excellent PC skills, with the ability to leverage IT and systems, are required.
