Maths Tutor Wanted - Flexible, Rewarding Role!
Are you a passionate science teacher looking for flexible and rewarding work? We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Maths tutors to join our team in Brent and the surrounding areas!
Role Requirements:
- Pay: £30 - £35 per hour
- DBS on Update: Must have an up-to-date DBS check.
- Subjects: Maths
- Location: Brent and surrounding areas.

This tutor role involves:
- planning lessons and resources around the student's needs. This could be in the core subjects or life skills;
- plan and deliver engaging sessions.
- apply skills to raise pupils' confidence.
- manage children with challenging behaviour.
- track the learning progress of the student to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide monthly reports.
- potentially engage in outdoor activities such as learning about plants and nature with the student,
- learn about visuals to communicate in some cases.
Responsibilities:
- Instruction:
- Plan and deliver lessons tailored to the student's individual learning needs.
- Teach a range of topics, including basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics (depending on student level).
- Assessment:
- Regularly assess students' understanding of topics through quizzes, tests, and assignments.
- Provide feedback on students' strengths and areas for improvement.
- Customisation:
- Adjust lesson plans and teaching strategies to match the student's pace and learning style.
- Create additional practice problems or resources as needed to reinforce concepts.
- Student Support:
- Help students build confidence in solving mathematical problems and understanding theoretical concepts.
- Offer assistance with homework, exam preparation, and school projects.
- Communication:
- Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, or supervisors regarding student progress.
- Provide progress reports and suggest strategies for improvement.
- Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated on new teaching methods, math curriculum changes, and math-related technology tools.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills.
