Contract Type: Temporary (Potential to go Temp to Perm for the right candidate) or Permanent, depending on preference
Salary: Paid to Scale (M1 - UPS3)
Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM + Additional (Full Teacher Responsibilities)
Ofsted Rating: Good (2023)

Position Overview:
An Ofsted Good school in Northampton is looking to appoint a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher. This role is available on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right individual, or as a direct permanent appointment if preferred. The successful candidate will take on full teaching responsibilities, including planning, marking, and contributing to the wider Science department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and participate in departmental meetings.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Take on full teaching responsibilities, including planning, marking, and participation in school events.

Requirements:

  • Ideally, the candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Must have an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science with the ability to teach across various Key Stages.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to maintaining high educational standards and contributing to the school community.
