We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team in Northampton. As part of our inclusive educational environment, you will be providing vital support to students with varying behavioural needs, ensuring they can access learning and thrive in their school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with behavioural challenges, helping them to develop positive behaviours and emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement behaviour management strategies.
  • Assist in creating and delivering tailored interventions for students, monitoring their progress and adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Maintain a calm and supportive presence within the classroom and during school activities.
  • Encourage students to build social skills and positive relationships with peers and staff.
  • Provide feedback and report progress to teachers and parents where necessary.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or educational setting.
  • Understanding of different behavioural issues and how to support them effectively.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • A patient, calm, and compassionate approach to supporting students.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant, Psychology, Social Work, or SEN-related field) is desirable but not essential.
