Are you passionate about supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people? An alternate provision located on the outskirts of Northampton is seeking a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Tutor to help students develop resilience, confidence, and positive mental health strategies.



About the Role:

As a Pastoral Tutor, you will work closely with students, offering support through structured wellbeing sessions, group workshops, and one-on-one mentoring. You will play a vital role in promoting emotional wellbeing, helping students overcome challenges, and ensuring they feel valued and supported in their learning environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver wellbeing sessions and interventions to support students' mental and emotional health.
  • Provide one-to-one mentoring and guidance to students facing personal or academic challenges.
  • Develop and implement wellbeing programs to enhance resilience, confidence, and self-esteem.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
  • Monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting concerns when necessary.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture where all students feel safe and supported.


About You:

  • Experience in a pastoral, mentoring, or wellbeing support role (within an educational or youth work setting).
  • A strong understanding of mental health and wellbeing strategies for young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships and provide a safe, non-judgmental space for students.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, counselling, youth work, or a related field (desirable).
