About our client:

Our client is made up of six business units, each of which aspires to innovate, influence, and inspire others through high-quality and purposeful education and training. This is a national group of 13 independent OFSTED-regulated schools.

Our clientsupport approximately 35 pupils on roll to ensure that we can provide ample opportunities for children who need a nurturing, encouraging and supportive environment, specifically for those who will reintegrate back into a mainstream setting. The school consists of a core team of the Head of School, Deputy Head of School, up to seven teachers, and five support staff. What they are looking for:

Qualifications:

  • Hold a teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS)
  • National Award for SEN Co-ordination / NPQ for SENCOs (or be in first 3 years of a SENCO role)
  • Degree or equivalent.
  • NPQSL and/or NPQH (desirable)

Management & Organization Skills:

  • A highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic person who is approachable and promotes positive relationships and has high expectations. Ability to effectively manage student discipline and have a commitment to a high level of pastoral care

Partnership & Community Engagement:

  • Proven experience working collaboratively with parents, community organizations, and stakeholders to support students with diverse and challenging needs.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of equality of opportunity, safeguarding, child protection and inclusion issues and how they can be addressed effectively in schools with high levels of vulnerable children

Problem-Solving:

  • Ability to quickly identify and address challenges faced by students, ensuring appropriate follow-up and support for their individual needs.

Communication:

  • To be able to communicate clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing, with a diverse range of audiences, including children, parents and carers, governors, and colleagues

Experience:

  • Experience teaching across the secondary age range, with a proven track record as a creative and adaptabe Head of SENwho inspires and motivates students. Familiarity with virtual learning environments is desirable.
