Supported Living Service Manager

Northampton

£45,000 per annum

TRC is currently searching for an experienced Supported Living Service Manager based in and around Northampton. As the Service Manager, you will have day to day responsibility for the management of the full staff team to ensure the delivery of person-centered support for adults with a range of needs including learning disabilities, mental health conditions and associated complex care needs in their own home. The service covers around 7 homes, that support 30 - 40 people.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

Promote a non-aversive approach to people we support at all times, and promote the ethos of always working with people we support.

Oversee the home’s care planning system, e.g., ensuring assessment information including the referring authority’s Care Management Assessment & Care Plan is translated into goals, ensuring agreed actions at Care Reviews are translated into goals and ensuring appropriate follow-up.

Manage all staff in a professional and assertive manner, encouraging an open and inclusive atmosphere.

Conduct fair, thorough and timely appraisals as per the company procedure.

Ensure that each member of the team receives a recorded supervision session as per procedure.

Provide in-house training, including confident presentation of monthly staff training sessions and informal mentoring as required.

Assist with recruitment & selection for vacancies and promotion opportunities.

Demonstrate awareness of the financial business plan.

Manage the service’s budgets, including gross pay budget, effectively and respond quickly and strategically to any overspends.

Maintain a homely & welcoming environment.

Maintain high standards of estate management at the Home, responding appropriately to matters requiring attention.

Maintain empty bedrooms to a high standard for possible admissions.

Ensure the health and safety of people we support and staff, adhering strictly to Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.

Ensure the correct application and monitoring of all relevant statutory legislation requirements.

Respond to crises, complaints and CQC/CSSIW inspections in a calm, professional manner, and take appropriate action as required.

Oversee in-house audits and address non-conformances raised at audits.

Contribute positively to the quality assurance system by commenting constructively on proposals, policies and procedures.

Oversee appropriate maintenance of administrative systems (including professional record keeping) at the Home.

Prepare professional reports/written correspondence as required.

Requirements:

Must have experience managing a team within a CQC-regulated service

Must have a full UK driving license

Must have a Level 5 in Health and Social Care or working towards

Ideally have multi-site experience within a management position
