Opus people solutions on behalf of Northampton Childrens Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join their Adoption and SGO Team

Job Title: Social Worker
Length of assignment: 3 Months
Hours per week: 37
Hourly rate: 36
Location: One Angel Square
Remote/Office based: Hybrid - 1- 2 days in the office

  • Progress support plans for adoptive families and for children subject to Special Guardianship Order and their Special Guardian families, including group work and training.
  • Undertake succinct, timely and thorough assessments in complex situations, using Signs of Safety frameworks, secure base and DDP principles.
  • Have knowledge and experience of therapeutic parenting, attachment theory and the application of these to adoption issues in work with families and children.
  • Work closely with other professionals and inform/coordinate work done by colleagues in education, health, safeguarding teams and other agencies
  • Engage and work directly with parents/ carers and children/ young people, using age and stage appropriate methods to inform the assessment and planning process, to hear their views and respond supportively
  • Deliver training and group work, with support of colleagues
  • we do not do the bulk our assessment work virtually, we expect social workers to meet in person with families. This means that it will be required that they can be in the Northamptonshire area to do visits with families regularly.
  • Visits will take up around 30% of working time and this is on top of around six days a month in the office.
