About the SchoolA specialist Alternative Provision dedicated to supporting young people who may not thrive in mainstream education is seeking a Maths Teacher or Maths Tutor. The students have diverse needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) challenges, SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), or have experienced barriers to learning. The school provides a nurturing, flexible, and engaging environment where every learner is supported to reach their full potential.
The RoleAs a Maths Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and tailored Maths lessons to small groups or one-to-one.
- Support students with varying abilities, helping to rebuild confidence in learning.
- Use creative and practical approaches to make Maths accessible and relevant.
- Work closely with a passionate team of educators, therapists, and support staff.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Maths degree.
- Experience working in an alternative provision, SEN setting, or with disengaged learners is desirable.
- A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach to teaching.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt to individual needs.
- A commitment to making Maths exciting and relevant to real life.
