Location: Northampton

Hours: Full time 7:00am to 4:30pm or 7:30am to 5:00pm

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Trade Counter Assistant to join our client’s successful Merchant company in a friendly and supportive working environment.

Duties of a Trade Counter Assistant:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all trade counter customers.
  • Assist customers with product selection, ensuring they receive accurate information and advice.
  • Maintain a well organised trade counter, ensuring products are well stocked and displayed effectively
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support the sales team in achieving sales targets and goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with trade customers to encourage repeat business.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, reporting any stock shortages or discrepancies.
  • Assist with the receipt and processing of deliveries.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations and excellent customer service.
  • Keep up to date with product knowledge and industry trends to better assist customers.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures regarding health and safety, security, and compliance.

What we would like from you:

  • Previous experience in a customer service or trade sales role is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using sales and inventory management systems.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism.
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing inventory.
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards work and customer service.
