HGV Technician

Wilson Recruitment is seeking a Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a busy and dynamic team in Wellingborough. This role offers the opportunity to work with a range of commercial vehicles and trailers, ensuring they meet MOT standards. You'll be part of a team that delivers high-quality services, including industrial and power generation engine maintenance, trailer servicing, and 24-hour support.Minimum of 40 hours per week, 5 nights a week (night-shift), full time, permanent, Monday - Friday, 22:00 - 06:00Key Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various commercial vehicles and trailers to DVSA standards.Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.Attend roadside breakdowns and on-site customer premises to provide vehicle assistance.Ensure vehicles are handled carefully, following health and safety procedures.Liaise with the parts department to source necessary parts.Complete all job cards and service sheets accurately and on time.Maintain a clean and organised workspace.Stay up to date with relevant product knowledge and attend training as required.Candidate Requirements:Technical qualification: City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ qualified technician.Strong communication skills and a problem-solving attitude.Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.Awareness of health and safety standards.Desired but not essential: HGV licence, Forklift licence, or experience with Scania products.Employee Benefits:Competitive salaryBonus schemeRefer-a-friend scheme: up to £2,000 per successful referralLife assuranceOptional private health insuranceEnhanced overtime ratesAdditional employer pension contributionsStructured training programme30 days holiday (including Bank Holidays), increasing with length of service24/7 mental health and wellbeing supportLong service recognition and rewardsFull PPE providedIf you're a motivated and skilled technician looking for an exciting new opportunity, apply today through Wilson Recruitment!
