This role will be primarily based in the Handforth Dean location with some infrequent travel to the Manchester (Didsbury) location for meetings/support. The role is Monday to Friday, normal office hours and we encourage flexible working where possible. The position reports directly into the EHS governance function with direct operational responsibility to the site management team.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering a good customer service to all those that work on site, be well organised, responsible to keep our facility in good condition. Our spindle repair service at Handforth is a relatively small location, and this is a fantastic opportunity to implement and develop a facilities management system suitable for the operation's size with a very much "hands on" role to complete some basic monitoring requirements.

You'll make an impact by:

  • Selecting and appointing contractors that can complete statutory requirements (Fire, Electricity, Water, Gas, Groundskeeping etc) on behalf of the site management team
  • Supervise cleaning operations
  • Creating the appropriate documentation to ensure all statutory checks are managed and recorded
  • Take ownership of managing contractors for works and determine schedules accordingly
  • Be responsible for the facilities budget and manage quotations to achieve best value.
  • Supporting the EHS function with audits and inspections of the facility
  • Support the EHS function with waste management and documentation
  • Create, review and update critical FM processes
  • Support supply chain management and procurement - ordering office / cleaning materials and maintaining good stock levels.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience of working within a facilities management role or similar position as a minimum
  • Qualifications in an FM/Business Process/Property Management role advantageous
  • Support the security arrangements for the site
  • L8 LCA8000 Tasks for Technicians (routine water/legionella safety monitoring) advantageous but training will be given for the right person
  • Certified PAT tester advantageous but training will be given for the right person
  • Experienced with FM procedure and process documentation, including procurement of FM related provisions, cleaning materials etc
  • Excellent document management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Confident with Microsoft and third-party applications
  • Ability to work to tight timescales and prioritise workload
  • Confident to work with subcontractors and minimise costs
