Principal Structural Engineer - Cheshire

I am seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Structural Engineer to join a prestigious Structural Engineering consultancy based in Cheshire, specialising in Extreme Loads and Blast Engineering. Known for their expertise, this consultancy handles high-profile projects across the UK and internationally, focusing on extreme load scenarios.
Qualifications and Experience Required for this Principal Structural Engineer include:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered status (MICE or MIStructE) or equivalent experience to meet chartered review requirements
- Strong leadership skills with experience working directly with clients and project teams to devise innovative solutions for complex challenges
- Proficient in steel and concrete design according to Eurocodes or UFC 3-340-02
- Proven experience managing the commercial aspects of project delivery
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and a proactive approach
- Willingness to undergo UK security vetting (SC level or higher)
Key Responsibilities for this Principle Structural Engineer:
- Collaborate with clients to define project requirements, influence results, and deliver customized solutions
- Work closely with design teams to develop strategies for protective designs
- Lead design responsibilities, including specification development, compliance monitoring, and site visits
- Support Tier 1, 2, and 3 contractors in meeting project specifications
- Collaborate with manufacturers on new product developments
- Manage project workload to meet deadlines while upholding quality standards
- Conduct detailed structural calculations, including hand calculations, finite element analysis, and computational fluid dynamics
- Perform vehicle dynamics assessments for hostile vehicle mitigation design
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, including graduates and senior engineers
- Participate in senior management activities
