FIRE SAFETY MANAGER

Full Time & Permanent

Location: Anywhere within England, Scotland or Wales

Salary: up to £60,000 plus £4,320 cash car allowance

One of the UK’s largest Property Management companies, Residential Management Group, has an opportunity for an experienced Fire Safety Manager, reporting to the Head of Health & Safety.

The Fire Safety Manager will be the point of contact for all fire safety and building safety technical enquiries as required under the Building Safety legislation and new fire safety legislation, and support with technical responses to enquiries from employees, clients, contractors and visitors.

The role is hybrid, enabling the Fire Safety Manager to work between home and an office. Some travel to office meetings and sites, and possibly working outside of working hours, may be required. We are open to applications from all geographical locations across England, Wales and Scotland.

What are some of the responsibilities you will have?

  • Being the subject matter expert and responding to relevant enquiries
  • Coordinate, maintain and report on project plans for all projects supporting, ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met in line with SLA’s.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of changes to legislation, with due consideration of the impact of these changes on RMG
  • Assist with the design of bespoke training for employees and oversee and support it’s delivery
  • Review and update a library of fire safety and technical information, with responsibility for amendments to the Fire Risk Assessment template.
  • Represent RMG at national fire and health and safety committee meetings, where necessary.
  • Provide data for inclusion in reports.
  • Provide advice to the property teams and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on deficiency and enforcement notices, whilst keeping the authorities updated on progress through to completion and manage these on the central system.

What skills, experience and qualifications are we looking for in our Fire Safety Manager?

Essential

  • Post qualification experience in Fire, M&E, Construction, FM or Property Management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of RRFSO, Building Safety Act, supporting regulations, government guidance, Building regulations and specifically Approved Document B, Housing Act, and Fire Safety (England) Regs
  • Nebosh fire certificate or working towards Fire Diploma
  • Membership level of IFE

Preferred

  • Commercial acumen and good organisational skills in order to manage workloads and undertake project management and monitoring; Analytical skills in order to undertake research and provide written summaries
  • Demonstrate ability to make decisions both independently and collaboratively, having first evaluated all options. Supports decisions with factual information and well presented
  • Advise the SLT on new risks emerging and the mechanism for reporting new risks and/or incidents which could bring detriment to the business, members of staff or to customers
