Data Engineer

Cheshire- Hybrid working£55,000 - £65,000 + Benefits

We're looking for a Data Engireer to join our client in Cheshire as Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes, and other data-related solutions, ensuring the seamless integration of data across various platforms. You will be working closely with the wider data team to help deliver high-quality, scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Azure technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL Database.
  • Design and implement scalable and high-performance data architectures using Azure cloud services, ensuring robust data storage, processing, and retrieval.
  • Design and implement data models to support business requirements, ensuring that data is clean, accurate, and accessible across the organization.
  • Build and manage ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into cloud-based data storage solutions.
  • Work with data scientists, business analysts, and other key stakeholders to understand business needs and provide solutions to optimize data workflows.
  • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data pipelines and systems to ensure maximum performance and reliability.
  • Implement automated processes and monitoring solutions to ensure data systems run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensure that data security best practices are followed and that systems are compliant with relevant regulations (GDPR, etc.).

As Data Engineer you will have:

  • Solid experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database.
  • Expertise in developing and managing ETL processes for large-scale data integration, transformation, and migration projects.
  • Proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries and performance tuning, as well as scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data lake architectures.
  • Experience in designing scalable and highly available cloud-based data solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve data-related issues quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualisation tools.
