Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation of various cable management systems including but not limited to, Basket Tray, Galvanised Steel Trunking, Steel Cable Tray, Steel Cable Ladder Rack
  • Installation of power, control and communication cable ensuring correct routing, segregation, and termination
  • Installation of Control Panels, Motors, Sensors, Safety Equipment, push button stations and instrumentation Equipment, etc.
  • Ability to read and follow Electrical Schematics, Cable Schedules, and Layout Drawings
  • Testing of electrical systems including, Earth Bonding Testing, Insulation Resistance Testing, Voltage Tests and Continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using calibrated test devices to ensure, integrity, compatibility, and safety of system.
  • Powering up of machines following Build and/or installation including I/O Checks and Motor checks ready to handover to the Software and Commissioning teams
  • Working with and supporting the Software and Commissioning teams during the test phase assisting where necessary correcting any issues that may arise.
  • Working with, installing, and maintaining safety critical control systems and associated interlocks, e-stop circuits, pull wire systems, etc.
  • Comfortable working alone and/or as part of a team to find and present faults and concerns in electrical systems without receiving explicit direction.
  • Maintenance and repair of general facilities electrical equipment including, lighting, emergency light inspection, testing and repair, PAT testing, portable electrical equipment.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a safe and timely manner and where required details of work carried out is reported to relevant Supervisor and recorded.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed a recognised Electrical Engineering apprenticeship, City & Guilds Electrical qualification or relevant NVQ Level 3.
  • Experience in a recognised role
  • Minimum 3 years working in capital equipment manufacturer (preferred)

This role may occassionally require international travel for projects, therefore you will require the right to work in the UK and travel internationally without restriction.
