Ackerman Pierce is actively seeking a Finance Manager to join a team within Cheshire East. This exciting opportunity, initially for a 6-month term, comes with the potential for extension based on performance and internal circumstances.

Candidates with Local Authority experience will be given preference.

Duties for role

  • The candidate will cover the role of Finance Manager - Children and Schools.
  • This includes advising service directors and elected members plus managing a team to deliver financial support to the children and families directorate (inc. children's social care and home to school transport)
  • Managing the accounting arrangements for the dedicated school's grant.
  • The post is part of the finance leadership team who manage the overall finance service.

You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, high quality, financial service including the management and supervision of staff.

  • You will be a visible leader, manage resources effectively, and be passionate about making a difference.
  • You will have management responsibility for a finance team, be a positive role model, and

ensure commitment towards team goals and Service vision and priorities.

  • It will be your responsibility to performance manage your team and ensure we deliver to our customers.
  • You will look to create positive working relationships and be committed to developing your

team and yourself.
