Job description: Venn Group have been approached by a Local Authority in Cheshire to recruit an Independent Reviewing Officer. The vacancy will be running for 3 months with a possible extension.

Duties:

  • Chairing review meetings, attending and chairing any meeting in conjunction with the review of a child’s plan, occasionally chairing other meetings within the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit.
  • Consulting with the child and ensuring that the child’s views are clearly understood and taken into account during the care planning and review process.
  • Decide what actions are necessary to meet the child’s needs and to endorse the care plan and make specific and measurable recommendations accordingly.
  • Monitor the Local Authority’s performance in relation to a child’s care planning, checking that the agreed actions are being implemented and in so doing, ensuring that the Local Authority fulfils its duties as a Corporate Parent. In exceptional circumstances referring the Local Authority to CAFCASS.
   

The successful candidate will be required to travel in and around Cheshire.

Hourly Rate: £40 through an Umbrella Company
