Health and Safety Advisor
Cheshire
Salary: 35,000 to 40,000
A well- established Manchester based contractor who specialise in Commercial Fit out and refurbishment projects are looking for a proactive and dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join their team. Initially the role will be site based on a CAT/CATB office fit out in Cheshire but will then progress into covering other projects.
As the Health and Safety Advisor your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Making regular site visits to conduct safety audits and inspections
- Compiling safety reports for management
- Liaising with Contract Managers and making recommendations on safe working practices
- Attending monthly 'Management Meetings' and providing feedback and highlighting any trends
- Working with Contract Manager to develop risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Carrying out and recording incident investigations
- Developing effective policies and procedures and ensuring they remain updated
- Training operatives on a regular basis and conducting took box talks
- Advising managers and HR on HSE matters
Experience required:
- NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification (essential).
- In-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations and relevant health and safety laws.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
- Proven experience in a health and safety role within construction, fit-out, or a similar industry.
- A proactive and solution-focused mindset with excellent attention to detail.
