Health and Safety Advisor
Cheshire
Salary: 35,000 to 40,000

A well- established Manchester based contractor who specialise in Commercial Fit out and refurbishment projects are looking for a proactive and dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join their team. Initially the role will be site based on a CAT/CATB office fit out in Cheshire but will then progress into covering other projects.

As the Health and Safety Advisor your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Making regular site visits to conduct safety audits and inspections
  • Compiling safety reports for management
  • Liaising with Contract Managers and making recommendations on safe working practices
  • Attending monthly 'Management Meetings' and providing feedback and highlighting any trends
  • Working with Contract Manager to develop risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
  • Carrying out and recording incident investigations
  • Developing effective policies and procedures and ensuring they remain updated
  • Training operatives on a regular basis and conducting took box talks
  • Advising managers and HR on HSE matters

Experience required:

  • NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification (essential).
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations and relevant health and safety laws.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
  • Proven experience in a health and safety role within construction, fit-out, or a similar industry.
  • A proactive and solution-focused mindset with excellent attention to detail.
