Quality H&S Manager - Label Manufacturer
Salary- Dependant on experience
Location - Cheshire
Company - Europe's most established adhesive label Manufacturer.
Overview - Ensure the correct functioning of the Quality Management system, Environment and H&S systems to achieve the plant objectives.
Key responsibilities-
· Ensure fulfilment of legal regulations and the guidelines on Health and Safety.
· Prepare Annual Plan for preventive actions in relation to safety at work, industrial hygiene, ergonomics and psychosociology and work health. Carry out the Annual Report on Preventive Activities. Investigate accidents and corrective measures.
· Co-ordinate tasks to ensure the fulfilment of the provisions of the Prevention Management System: Risk assessment, improvement actions and corrective/predictive actions, prevention service, audits, issue and ensure documentation and procedures/instructions, analyse accident rates, etc.
· Actively participate in Safety at Work Committees and Group committees.
· Plan and manage health and safety training.
· Co-ordinate the handing out and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment.
· Define and co-ordinate safety requirements for emergency plans, fire drills, access control, co-ordination of subcontracted firms, private surveillance and signage.
· Co-ordinate or control requirements for the design and maintenance of fire prevention facilities and private security surveillance systems.
· Co-ordination of Business Activities at the work place, especially civil works, new facilities, special maintenance work.
· Deal with non-conformities and co-ordinate the analysis of their causes with the relevant area and carry out corrective, preventive and improvement actions.
· Ensure compliance with current legislation: waste waters, emissions, residues, etc.
· Management of non-conformities: Corrective, preventive and improvement actions.
· Relationship with local authorities: authorisations, licences, statistics, etc.
· Ensure and co-ordinate tasks relating to the fulfilment of ISO standards, procedures and instructions.
· Plan, co-ordinate and support the carrying out of internal and external audits. Participate in Area and Group meetings.
· Control and direct the management of company' waste waters and residues (water treatment plant)
· Monitor incidents and manage non-conformities (co-ordination with the rest of the functions involved, liaising between quality and commercial department, determining and proposing actions together with the commercial manager)
· Deal with non-conformities and co-ordinate an analysis into their causes with the corresponding area.
· Opening and monitoring of the execution of corrective and preventive actions.
· Manage customer returns, provide a response and also an action plan to resolve them.
· Analysis and processing of data for improvement actions and co-ordination and training of improvement groups.
· Plan, co-ordinate and support the carrying out of internal and external audits.
· Actively participate in quality committee and subcommittee meetings and at Group level.
· Ensure and co-ordinate tasks aimed at fulfilling ISO standards, procedures and instructions.
· Management of own documentation, reports and statistics.
· Assess and approve suppliers.
· Calibrate and check the precision of testing, laboratory and production equipment.
· KPI implementation on all processes, training provided.
Requirements-
· 2-3 years experience in similar tasks to those indicated
· Preferably from the packaging industry but would consider experience in an industrial manufacturing company.
· Experience in carrying out audits.
· Membership of IoSH / NEBOSH
· Managing the external audit processes, including BRC, ISO, FSC / PEFC
· Experience of Health and Safety
· Preferably be Lean Six Sigma / Kaizen qualified
· Have experience and knowledge of Environment regulations
· IT skills.
· Preferably have a Technical Industrial Engineering/Chemistry qualification
· Experience of managing up to 6 direct reports and 150 indirect reports
