Temporary Staffing Manager

Venn Group are currently partnered with a healthcare organisation in the Cheshire area who urgently require a full time Temporary Staffing Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support planning and delivery of regular recruitment programmes to recruit bank staff, whilst ensuring effective engagement with and management of inactive bank staff
  • Ensure a fully comprehensive induction programme is delivered to all new bank staff and all trust mandatory training is maintained throughout their bank agreement
  • Ensure that bank workers maintain the necessary training and competence to carry out their role, including revalidation for qualified nurses
  • Ensure the team manages the temporary workforce requirements of the trust using the Allocate Bank Staff and Optima systems and supporting the redeployment of bank and agency staff as necessary to maintain safe staffing levels
  • Ensure staffing gaps that have been identified are actively filled through bank and agency in line with agreed processes, escalating for senior approval when required
  • Work with service managers, matrons and ward managers on forward planning for future staffing issues
  • Manage absence and performance as appropriate and in line with trust policy
  • Maintain effective communication channels for bank staff including support to Bank staff wellbeing

Key skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered General Nurse
  • Previous experience in leading and managing a team/group of staff
  • Experienced in data processes
  • Experience of implementing change programmes
  • Experienced with a high level of understanding in the use of Bank Staff/ Health Roster
  • Understanding of employment law
  • Experience of working in a constantly changing environment
  • Knowledge of clinical issues that affect staffing in a community setting
  • Knowledge and awareness of temporary staffing issues
  • Leading and managing a team 
  • Rostering system use
