Currently looking for a Solution Architect to work with our existing architecture team within ITS Strategy & Architecture. The team is responsible for architectural design & governance, and translating ITS strategy into design principles, standards and guidance. It leads the definition and shaping understanding of University IT need.ITS Strategy & Architecture is a specialised team with roles across information architecture, solution architecture, business analysis, and business architecture.The role will initially be assigned to work within a programme to provide the stable and highly available IT services that enable our current and future needs. The primary focus of this role will be to work within our "Colleague and Student Compute" and "Environments" workstreams.Your role will include engagement with key stakeholders; product fit / gap analysis; High Level Design documentation and technical leadership. Ensuring our technology services are properly embedded into our organisation through quality service design is critical to success.Colleague and Student Compute

  • Delivering an improved experience for students in the PC cluster environments and a more robust service for colleagues
  • Expanding services offering increased flexibility & remote access to Teaching & Learning software
  • Documented designs & processes for new & existing services within Colleague & Student computing
  • Stronger links between IT Services and the Teaching and Learning community for colleague and student computing services.

  • Delivering on-demand, high availability, reusable, stable and managed environments utilising industry-standard tools.
  • On-demand & Automated builds for environments for our core systems.
  • Improved release management & data obfuscation technologies & processes.
  • Robust guidelines, standards and governance
  • Delivering a Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution to secure and manage privileged accounts, reducing attack surface, preventing unauthorized access, aligned to industry best practice.
