We are seeking Electrically-biased Shift Engineers to join our Customer a national food manufacturer in Northwich, Cheshire. This multi-skilled engineering role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance to ensure minimal downtime and optimise product quality. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of machinery and equipment and uphold compliance with legislative and site procedures.

Shift Pattern:4 on (2 Days / 2 Nights), 4 off

Key Responsibilities

  • Fault diagnosis and repairs of plant and site service equipment
  • Execution of planned maintenance tasks and responding to maintenance requests
  • Ensuring adherence to statutory checks and GMP compliance
  • Supporting Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and capital projects
  • Maintaining accurate engineering technical documentation and stores
  • Coaching and supporting employees in shared maintenance processes
  • Delivering 24/7 equipment care and participating in engineering meetings and handovers
  • Making decisions in line with site policies and compliance with customer codes of practice
  • Achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) in health & safety, cost, quality, service, and people

Requirements

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (electrical, mechanical, or multiskilled) or ONC/BTEC/HNC
  • Proficiency with MS Office, CMMS, pneumatics, steam and hydraulic systems, PLCs (Siemens S7, S5, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley), HMIs, robotics, and inverters
  • Experience in the FMCG & food industry (desirable)
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, building strong relationships with internal stakeholders including Health and Safety, Quality, Engineering, Production, and management
