Client Details

Our client is a well established chemical manufacturing company with operations based in Cheshire

Description

As the Electrical & Control Instrumentation Maintenance Manager, you will be a hands-on Engineer as well as a leader. You will plan, document and manage the maintenance of all electrical & instrumentation on site, making sure all scheduled maintenance is completed on time and within budget, utilising the site asset management system.

路 A hands-on reactive maintenance Engineer on production instrumentation as and when failures occur, leading the LOTO / electrical isolations on site;

路 Responsible person for HV & LV works undertaken on site.

路 Proactive scheduled maintenance to minimise the reactive maintenance including but not limited to ;

o Ownership of site EC&I standards and their continuous improvement;

o Development of the site SCADA systems and their maintenance, working closely with the site IT department & current Automation Engineers.

o Ownership of Thor compliance to BS EN 61508 & 61511, SIL systems on site and their maintenance;

o Ownership of compliance to DSEAR installation on site and their verification.

o Ownership of all instrumentation calibration and loop checks;

o Legislative compliance,

o Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Production Planner to maximise efficiency of working.

路 Agreeing the timescales, costs and resources required on site;

路 Being part of the project team for all new projects on site;

路 Negotiating/ liaising with contractors and suppliers for materials and services

路 Reporting regularly on progress to the senior managers.

路 Managing maintenance projects from initiation to completion, overseeing and supervising site work.

路 Working with new projects running Electrically biased FEED studies, detailed design and installations;

路 Arranging Invoices & Purchase orders against pre authorised budgets.

路 To work with the Process/Project team to ensure projects are formally closed off on completion.

路 Identify any potential areas of slippage in the programme and suggest a corrective course of action to team members.

路 Escalate problems quickly to the Operations Manager and help to identify and instigate solutions.

路 Ensure all projects adhere to Electrical, control & instrumentation; Health and Safety legislation;

路 Ensure daily communication with the maintenance team and Production Manager.

路 Carry out health and safety inspections with the H&S Manager.

路 Being part of the site COMAH team, as a technical lead.

路 Adhering to all Thor Specialities (UK) Limited policies and procedures

Profile

Electrical Control & Instrumentation Maintenance Manager , you will need:

路 Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills;

路 Logical thinking with creative problem-solving ability;

路 Great attention to detail;

路 Good communication and negotiation skills;

路 Understanding of budget control;

路 The ability to work well with others and lead a team;

路 Computer literacy;

路 Understanding of risk assessments/ method statements.

You will be qualified to degree standard in Electrical Engineering or similar or have a proven track record with relevant City & Guilds certification minimum of

路 C&G 18th Edition,

路 C&G Electrical Installation

路 DSEAR/ COMPEX

Knowledge or suitable training in the following would be advantageous:

路 IEC 61508/61511

路 Siemens S7

路 Software development (SCADA)

路 Knowledge of UK Legislation (particularly CDM, HSWA)

路 Health & Safety awareness and ability to ensure all comply with safety rules in the team
