The Project
As a highly experienced Planner, you will play a crucial role within a sustainable energy plant located in Greater Manchester, with values in excess of £480m. You will be responsible for developing and managing the project schedule, overseeing all tasks are completed efficiently and on time. Additionally, the role includes tracking project milestones, managing reporting on schedule performance, and supporting the integration of sustainable energy solutions within the overall plant design and execution plan.
Requirements
For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;
- Engineering degree - desirable not essential
It is also essential that you hold the experience below;
- Experience in E&I contracting and planning
- A demonstrated track record of working on a range of energy projects with values in excess of £480m
- Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working a specialist electrical contractor
- A proven track record of delivering high quality plans and schedules on projects that were successfully delivered on time and within budget

- Proficient utilisation of project planning software Primavera P3 & P6

- Competent in utilising planning software and methodologies to develop elaborate project schedules
- Proven track record in planning and project management, preferably within the construction industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders

Duties
- Participate in strategic decision-making
- Procure essential permits and approvals
- Create project budgets and monitor expenses
- Conduct regular quality audits and assessments
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients
- Maintain and oversee relationships with stakeholders
- Execute efficient solutions to maintain project progress
- Oversee the planning process from initiation to completion
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation
- Asses and authorise all project cost forecasts and progress reports
- Manage and resolve project issues as they arise during project lifecycle
- Offer technical guidance and operational leadership to the project controls team
- Responsible for establishing and implementing the project's overall controls framework
- Evaluate updated plans and identify any risks or scheduling conflicts for the Project Manager
- Delivers comprehensive planning support to the project team, covering all aspects of project planning
- Review construction contracts, ensuring cost and schedule requirements are sufficient and properly defined
- Identify and report any delays relative to project baselines, and evaluate their potential impact on critical project activities
- Develop and implement policies, objectives and standards related to cost and schedule control analysis activities
- Recognise and evaluate cost engineering and planning / scheduling challenges, proposing creative and effective solutions to resolve them
- Conduct schedule optimisation, evaluations and cost-benefit analyses to ensure more efficient and timely project execution
- Oversee performance measurement processes across all aspects of the project, including engineering, contracting, material and equipment procurement, and construction
- Create and implement reports and management tools to identify issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions throughout the project lifecycle
