Position: Primary School Tutor - Maths & EnglishLocation: Halton, CheshireType: Part-Time (3 hours per morning, Monday to Friday)Salary: Up to £35ph

The Role:We are seeking a compassionate and experienced tutor to provide focused support in Maths and English to young children who have been excluded from primary school. You will work with a small number of children on a one-to-one or small group basis for three hours each morning, helping them catch up academically and develop key skills for reintegration into education.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, individualised lessons in Maths and English.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment to re-engage children with education.
  • Assess students abilities and progress, tailoring lessons to their specific needs.
  • Build trust and confidence with children who may have experienced challenges in traditional school settings.
  • Provide regular feedback to parents/carers and the relevant educational authorities.

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring young children, particularly in Maths and English.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
  • Knowledge of the UK primary curriculum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Preferred:

  • Experience working with children who have faced educational or behavioural challenges.
  • Teaching qualifications (e.g., QTS, PGCE) or relevant tutoring experience.
