About the role:

We are seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to manage costs, contracts, and financial performance on critical electrical infrastructure projects. The role is to be hybrid with travel to sites across Warwick, Leeds or London.

Duties include:

  • Attend client, design, project and other meetings as requested.
  • Prepare regular/monthly cost reports and advise the client of any decisions required and obtain authorisation.
  • Liaise with the client and the professional team to determine the clients requirements and to develop the clients brief.
  • Advise the client on demolition, stripout, site investigation, diversionary and enabling works contracts, decanting and any other works required to enable the project to proceed.
  • Advise on the cost of the project and advise on the cost of alternative design and construction options.
  • Visit the Site and advise the client on any factors likely to affect cost, time or method of implementation.
  • Prepare an initial budget estimate to test feasibility proposal and maintain.
  • Liaise with the clients legal adviser and advise on bonds for performance and other purposes.
  • Liaise with the Clients legal adviser and advise on the use and/or amendment of construction industry standard forms of Building Contract or contribute to drafting of Client requirements.
  • Advise on the rights and obligations to the parties to the Building Contract.
  • Advise on tendering and contractual procurement options. Prepare recommendations for the Clients approval.
  • Liaise with the Client and the Professional Team and prepare tender documentation.
  • Prepare bills of quantities for inclusion in tender documents in accordance with NRM 2 (excludes MEP bills of quantities).

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience working in RIBA 1-5
  • Experience with civil engineering (earthworks ideally)
  • Ideally experience of utilising a framework call off for construction work
  • Ideally experience with two stage tendering
  • Ideally experience with large infrastructure buildings
  • The ability to travel nationally (noting the site and office locations
