Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of domestic abuse survivors? Halton Borough Council is seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Services Manager to shape our corporate response to domestic abuse, develop and improve service provisions, and oversee the multi-agency response to high-risk cases through the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC).

About the Role

As the Domestic Abuse Services Manager, you will:? Lead and manage a team of Independent Domestic Violence Advisers (IDVAs), ensuring the delivery of high-quality frontline services.? Develop strong partnerships to create a holistic, family-focused approach to domestic abuse intervention and prevention.? Oversee the commissioning, procurement, and performance monitoring of specialist domestic abuse services.? Ensure that risk assessments, safety planning, and referrals to MARACs are consistently applied to protect survivors.? Provide operational and budgetary management for domestic abuse and sexual violence services.? Keep up to date with legal frameworks and best practices, implementing changes at a local level.? Drive service improvement by identifying gaps, developing strategies, and ensuring high performance across domestic abuse services.

About You

We're looking for someone with:? A degree (National Framework Level 6) or equivalent experience in domestic abuse, community safety, or a related field.? Recent experience in managing domestic abuse services, including staff supervision, service development, and multi-agency partnership working.? A thorough understanding of domestic abuse legislation, including the Domestic Abuse Act, Children's Act, and Safeguarding laws.? Knowledge of IDVA practices, risk assessments, safety planning, and best practice approaches for high-risk survivors.? Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate, and support a team.? Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.? A full UK driving licence (B).

Desirable Skills

  • A management qualification (Level 5) or experience in leading change and service development.
  • Experience in delivering multi-agency training and workshops.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance systems, audits, and budget management.
