My client delivers sustainable engineering solutions offering a complete range of end to end services for all water and wastewater solutions from major projects and programmes.

They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team with the opportunity for hybrid working. As part of our dynamic and growing team, you will play a pivotal role in the successful commercial management of infrastructure projects, working closely with design, construction, and supply chain teams.

You will report directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor and be responsible for managing projects and work packages, ensuring effective cost control and contributing to the overall success of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quantity surveying duties in respect of managing projects and work packages
  • Liaise with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control cost.
  • Collaborative work with the client to ensure business requirements are met
  • Manage the main contract ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised as necessary.
  • Preparation and issue of subcontract documentation
  • Assist in the management and performance of subcontractors
  • Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment
  • The preparation of project cost & value reports, budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist in the management and development of training commercial staff.
  • Promote and maintain professional working relationships.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience in managing infrastructure projects.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
  • Working towards or holding chartered membership of a recognised institution.
  • Familiarity with NEC3 or ICheme contracts.

Desired:

  • Experience in managing and developing a team or small group of commercial staff.
