Reed Accountancy and Finance Norwich are delighted to be working with a Norfolk based business to recruit for a Management Accountant who has completed their AAT qualification and possesses post-qualified experience to join a growing team and company.

This role offers a variety of responsibilities to the successful applicant, including management reporting, payroll, performance measurement, and statutory reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure the smooth operation of the department and will have the capacity to deputise in specific situations.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts
  • Maintain lead schedules for monthly prepayments, accruals, and month-end ledgers.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasting.
  • Handle monthly payroll and weekly cash flow analysis and reporting.
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and statutory auditors on routine and year-end queries.
  • Review and monitor VAT accounts and compliance processes.
  • Report on inventory levels, slow-moving stock, and monthly gross margins.
  • Prepare weekly KPI information and assist in the development of operational reporting.
  • Manage the purchase ledger function and oversee accounts payables and receivables.
  • Prepare bonus and commission reports and oversee intercompany transactions.
  • Maintain sub-ledgers, bank reconciliations, and record income from various regional bodies.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet business objectives and contribute to a positive working environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • AAT qualified or similar level of qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role within finance.
  • Proficiency in preparing monthly management accounts and handling payroll.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of liaising with non-finance team members.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience in supervising and assisting finance team members.
  • Competence in using finance software and systems relevant to the role.
