Reed Accountancy Norwich are seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join our client, with whom we have a long-term relationship, to manage the day-to-day accounting functions within their team. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that both month-end and year-end deadlines are met. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this position offers a great opportunity to lead a team of Finance Assistants and contribute significantly to the financial health and development of our clients organisation.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Team Management:?Oversee the Finance Assistants to ensure timely and high-quality transactional processing.

Financial Recording and Controls:?Ensure all income and expenditure are recorded in compliance with accounting policies and statutory requirements. Develop procedures to strengthen financial controls.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:?Manage supplier payments and sales invoicing processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Banking and Reconciliations:?Keep bank reconciliations up-to-date and manage banking transactions effectively.

Reporting:?Handle month-end reporting and prepare balance sheets with accurate reconciliations.

Year-End Duties:?Assist in producing information for year-end accounts and participate in the audit process.

Continuous Improvement:?Aim to continually enhance the finance function to support the organisation effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

AAT qualified or actively studying towards a qualification.

Strong experience in managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and nominal ledger.

Proven experience in managing a small team.

Excellent technical accounting skills and knowledge of regulatory issues.

Proficiency in MS Office, financial software applications, and spreadsheets.

Exceptional time management, planning skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
