A dynamic global organisation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in driving financial excellence and operational improvement within an evolving and forward-thinking business.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the financial function and supporting key strategic objectives. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls, while also contributing to process improvements and financial planning.

You will be responsible for managing technical accounting matters, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. Additionally, you will work closely with senior stakeholders, auditors, and finance colleagues across the group to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong technical accounting background and experience in a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
    • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and statutory requirements.
    • Lead the preparation of UK statutory accounts and tax packs.
    • Ensure inter-company and intra-group transactions are accurately documented for transfer pricing compliance.
    • Manage multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange risk assessment.
  • Audit & Internal Controls
    • Lead external audit processes across UK and overseas entities, addressing audit queries efficiently.
    • Enhance internal control frameworks, ensuring financial processes align with best practices.
    • Conduct monthly internal audit checks and work with teams to embed control measures within operations.
  • Management Reporting & Financial Planning
    • Support group reporting, including budgets, forecasts, and management accounts.
    • Develop financial insights and KPI reporting to drive informed business decisions.
    • Assist with monthly cash flow forecasting and foreign currency forecasting.
  • Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives
    • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and reporting systems.
    • Provide technical accounting guidance on key business decisions.
    • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Support ad hoc financial projects and business initiatives as required.

About You

We are looking for a commercially aware finance professional with:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification with post-qualification experience in a senior accounting role.
  • Strong IFRS knowledge and experience in PLC reporting.
  • Experience with multi-currency ledgers and foreign exchange exposure (desirable)
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as Cognos and NetSuite (desirable).
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities.
  • Experience leading external audits and liaising with auditors.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across teams and influence key stakeholders.
