Maternity Cover - Up to 12 Months
Our team provides Internal Audit services to members of the Eastern Internal Audit Services (EIAS) Consortium. We are entering an exciting period of development across the function as we explore the use of technology, in particular AI and further use of data analytics to drive our audits and add value to our clients.
We have an opportunity for an experienced Internal Auditor to join us to cover a period of maternity leave, in a role where you will be involved in the full range of internal audit responsibilities, together with using your knowledge and experience to explore new technologies.
You will support the Head of Internal Audit to provide Consortium clients with independent assurance regarding the effectiveness of each Council's/Authority's risk management, governance and internal control processes. This will include liaising with the external providers and officers to ensure the annual internal audit plans are delivered in a timely manner, and to a high-quality standard.
In this role, you will also have the opportunity to further develop your internal audit knowledge and experience through working with and receiving coaching and mentoring from the HIA, tackling more complex and varied audits, and gaining hands-on knowledge and experience in managing an internal audit service, and developing plans and strategies.
You will also assist the Head of Internal Audit in audit planning activities and writing Audit Committee reports, gaining valuable experience and knowledge which will be useful in the progression of your career.
We are also recruiting an Internal Auditor and you will be involved in their development and supervision.
About You
We are looking for a Certified Internal Auditor (or currently studying the CIA certification), with hands on experience of managing audits from start to finish. You will have demonstrable experience of working with a variety of people, with the ability to adapt your approach accordingly and display keen analytical and research skills. We are looking for an active listener, who will take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute ideas.
