NXTGEN is thrilled to be working with a highly respected accountancy firm in Norwich to recruit a Senior Bookkeeper to join their experienced team. If you've got experience working in an accountancy practice or multi client environment, and passionate about delivering an outstanding client experience, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact. As the Senior Bookkeeper, you'll support a diverse portfolio of SMEs, sole traders, and partnerships, all while guiding clients through the world of cloud accounting and best practices.

As a Senior Bookkeeper, you'll play a vital role in helping clients streamline their finance processes, providing hands-on guidance with cloud accounting software and related apps as their trusted advisor, delivering solutions that enhance clients' operations. Your responsibilities will also include producing monthly management accounts with insightful commentary, as well as handling technical submissions, such as VAT and CIS returns, where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile client bank statements to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and make relevant journal entries.
  • Complete and submit VAT & CIS returns quarterly, ensuring compliance and timeliness.
  • Manage multiple client workloads, prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Provide guidance and solutions for clients' cloud accounting queries, becoming their go-to expert.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within an accountancy practice, though candidates from an industry background are welcome to apply.
  • Expertise in cloud accounting software, especially Xero and QuickBooks, with a strong aptitude for guiding clients in these systems.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills to thrive in a client-facing role.
  • AAT qualification is beneficial but not essential.
