NXTGEN is thrilled to be working with an excellent client in Norwich on a unique Senior Bookkeeping opportunity. This is an exciting new role created to support an experienced qualified accountant following sustained growth. This client is renowned for their incredible development pathways, which means they rarely recruit externally. As the new Senior Bookkeeper, you'll be involved in a variety of duties, including bookkeeping and management accounts for a diverse range of clients. Beyond the day-to-day, this role offers a completely different feel and level of commercial insight compared to corporate firms. It's the perfect opportunity for someone passionate about learning, growth, and career progression in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, providing clients with valuable insights into their financial performance.
  • Support VAT return preparation and submissions across various industries.
  • Assist with financial reporting and analysis, ensuring clients receive timely and accurate information.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve finance systems and processes for both the firm and clients.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial support to clients, building strong and lasting relationships.

What we're looking for:

  • Working towards their AAT or chartered status (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
  • Previous experience in bookkeeping or management accounts, ideally within a practice environment.
  • Confident working with accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and develop.
