NXTGEN are delighted to be supporting a leading firm of Accountants based in Norwich in their search for a Senior Bookkeeper. As a Senior Bookkeeper you will work as part of the outsourcing team to support a range of SME's, sole traders and partnerships with their accounting tasks as well as guiding them through the world of cloud accounting. This might include advising them on both the use of cloud accounting software and supporting apps, as well as the potential migration to a cloud accounting package. As Senior Bookkeeper, you will also ensure the timely delivery of clients monthly management accounts, providing commentary as and when required. You will also support with some technical submissions including VAT and CIS where applicable. This particular firm pride themselves on their service delivery and in this client facing role, you will have the opportunity to deal directly with client queries, upholding high levels of customer service at all times.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reconcile client bank statements
  • Support with management account preparation and journal entries
  • Prepare and submit VAT & CIS returns on a quarterly basis
  • Manage multiple client workloads, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines
  • Support clients with any cloud accounting queries

The successful candidate will ideally have prior Bookkeeping experience, preferably gained within another accountancy firm but those with an industry background are also encouraged to apply. You'll be a cloud accounting whizz and will be confident with packages that include Xero and QuickBooks. This is a client facing role so excellent communication and relationship management skills are also key to succeeding in this role. Whilst an AAT would be beneficial in this role, it's not essential.
