Electrical Test Installation Engineer
Our client, a rapidly growing leader in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) market, renowned for their cutting-edge solutions, is going through a period of sustained growth. They are now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Test & Commissioning Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Connected Energys products and R&D prototypes are installed, connected and commissioned safely and compliant with all industry standards, legislation and our own high standards.
Electrical Test Installation Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with on-site Health & Safety and Site Acceptance Testing.
- Collaborate with Installations, Hardware Design, and Software Controls teams to align on product functionality and test requirements.
- Identify and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and performance.
- Assemble and validate electromechanical prototypes to ensure functionality and quality.
- Provide feedback to Design Engineers to improve design concepts and efficiency.
- Maintain documentation for prototypes and assembly requirements.
- Create RAMS and site reports, identifying hazards and ensuring safe execution of tasks.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and commissioning procedures.
- Perform visual inspections and document site/system conditions, ensuring follow-up actions.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including isolating, testing, fault-finding, and reporting.
- Perform mechanical maintenance (e.g., cleaning filters, sealing weather strips).
- Support software team with controller programming and display screen interrogation.
- Ensure all work follows industry standards and internal procedures.
- Be prepared for regular site visits and occasional overnight stays.
- Work with LV AC/DC systems, inverters, wiring, electronics, HVAC, and safety systems.
Electrical Test Installation Engineer
Requirements:
- Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant industry experience.
- Understanding of electro-mechanical and electronic principles and components.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and commissioning electrical systems.
- Computer literate and able to work independently.
- Strong problem-solvingskills and interpersonal abilities.
- Team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel nationwide and occasionally abroad; valid UK manual driving license preferred.
- Ideally up to 3 years of Electrical Engineering experience in a similar industry.
