Our R&D client, specialising in electric motors and controllers, is seeking a Senior Compliance Engineer (Functional Safety) to join their Engineering team. This role ensures adherence to Functional Safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508) through verification, validation, and testing of safety-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver core Functional Safety across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
- Conduct comprehensive Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA), Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety plans, safety cases, and safety analysis reports.
- Collaborate with firmware teams to establish and refine processes that align with Functional Safety standards.
- Perform gap analyses on new and existing systems to identify compliance issues and improvement areas.
- Create and implement safety validation strategies, including test planning and execution for safety goal validation.
- Conduct verification reviews to ensure all test activities comply with internal and external standards.
- Educate engineering teams on Functional Safety best practices and foster a culture of safety within the organization.
- Support the development of electric systems specifications in line with Functional Safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Experience in ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 functional safety.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
