Our R&D client, specialising in electric motors and controllers, is seeking a Senior Compliance Engineer (Functional Safety) to join their Engineering team. This role ensures adherence to Functional Safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508) through verification, validation, and testing of safety-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver core Functional Safety across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
  • Conduct comprehensive Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA), Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety plans, safety cases, and safety analysis reports.
  • Collaborate with firmware teams to establish and refine processes that align with Functional Safety standards.
  • Perform gap analyses on new and existing systems to identify compliance issues and improvement areas.
  • Create and implement safety validation strategies, including test planning and execution for safety goal validation.
  • Conduct verification reviews to ensure all test activities comply with internal and external standards.
  • Educate engineering teams on Functional Safety best practices and foster a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Support the development of electric systems specifications in line with Functional Safety requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Experience in ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 functional safety.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
