Bookkeeper

Keeler Recruitment are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our clients dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our accounting and tax teams by managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, ensuring financial records are accurate and up-to date.

This role requires someone who can work efficiently across a variety of industries, understanding the diverse needs of our clients, from large corporations to small sole traders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients.

- Reconcile bank statements and client accounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.

- Process VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.

- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

- Liaise with clients to gather financial information and provide timely updates on their financial standing.

- Support the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with senior accountants for tax filings.

- Handle payroll processing for clients, ensuring compliance with legal and tax  regulations.

- Provide general bookkeeping and administrative support to the accounting team as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in an accountancy practice.

- QBE or AAT qualified 

- Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Clear books

- Strong knowledge of VAT

- Payroll experience desired but not essential 

- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines effectively.

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to clients clearly.
