Site Engineer - Prison Extension Project - Newmarket
a leading construction firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Engineer to join our team on a major prison extension project. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to a project with significant social impact.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to the construction of a new prison extension, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, safety, and security.
- Provide technical expertise and support to the construction team, ensuring adherence to project specifications, drawings, and safety protocols.
- Oversee setting out and leveling operations, ensuring accurate placement of structures and utilities.
- Monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to maintain project timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Champion safety on the project, promoting a culture of awareness and ensuring adherence to the highest safety standards, including stringent security protocols specific to prison construction.
What We Need:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on large-scale construction projects, ideally with experience in institutional or high-security building projects.
- A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations relevant to prison construction.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software for setting out and leveling operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing challenges.
- A commitment to safety, with a proven ability to implement and uphold the highest safety standards.
- Ability to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
