Role Overview

This is a mainly transactional role including traditional agency, acting for both vendors and purchasers of development opportunities and the sourcing and sale of strategic land. However there is also advisory scope working alongside other team members to source and process consultancy instructions. As such business generation is key to this role and we are therefore looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and tenacity. This is a replacement role and offers the opportunity for the candidate to generate their own instruction base, as well as taking over and assisting on existing projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with agency colleagues to gain insight into client base and existing instructions.
  • To oversee existing agency and strategic land instructions.
  • Maintenance of Savills Maps within the patch to establish potential strategic land opportunities.
  • To seek and secure new strategic land instructions, establish an option / promotion agreement and support the landowner through to the completion of the land sale.
  • To forge good relationships with local planners, architects and other relevant parties in order to secure new agency instructions.
  • To work alongside other team members to source and process consultancy work.
  • To oversee the agency compliance.
  • To work with other Norwich office teams and the regional development teams to generate opportunities and provide clients with a seamless service.
  • Provide research with land data as and when required.
  • To keep entirely up to date with the Local Plan process of the relevant local authorities. 

Key Skills

Technical

  • MRICS qualified (at least two years PQE)
  • Highly proficient in the relevant software, particularly Argus Developer
  • Good working knowledge of the planning system
  • Experience of promotion and option agreements
  • Excellent knowledge of the agency legislation and compliance standards

Team Overview

The Norwich Development team comprises two directors, one associate, one surveyor, a graduate and a team administrator. The Norwich office has rural, residential and new homes teams as well as development and there is clear scope to work with the rural and new homes teams to generate new business. The candidate will need to forge good relationships with the relevant personnel to drive this forward.The role will work from the Norwich office with the patch extending across Norfolk and north Suffolk.The Development team prides itself on attention to detail and high quality output across both the transactional and professional business. The role therefore requires someone with excellent development experience, plus a good working knowledge of the planning system.
